  1. Love your dad! As a Texan country gal I think he was a real sport! He will be addicted now and will have to learn the recipe. He didn’t even recoil from the sweet tea or was it not sweet like here?

  2. My family serves stew on biscuits. My parents grew up in the Midwest, USA, but I was raised in Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest.

  3. Southern (US) food is, above and beyond anything else, simple, filling, and made (at it's heart) of the simplest, basest ingredients. It was made by poor people just trying to get as many tummies as possible to be full for as long as possible. The /best/ southern us food is made by Black communities, whose dishes were created by enslaved persons.

  4. I'm a professional chef who owns an American breakfast restaurant. I'll make you guys biscuits and gravy, chicken-fried steak, cinnamon rolls, whatever… anytime, anywhere.

  5. Back in my day. It was toasted slice bread, store bought, and you add the gravy sometimes with sausage links ,jimmy dean. But yes biscuits and gravy the best.

  6. They need to try maple street biscuit company in Florida. I know they turned it into a chain. But the original in Jacksonville is amazing.

  7. GUYS! You didn't have Strawberry Short Cake?! There are many variations of this dessert; however, the standout variation is made using biscuits and the dessert is topped with either whipped cream or ice cream.

  9. First time viewer, loved the presentation. Usually there is less sausage in the gravy, but I can imagine it was heavenly. Try the cinnamon rolls with Folgers coffee. The mix of bitter and sweet is a good contrast. It is a good 10 AM pick me up for those that start work at 6AM.

  12. My husband can’t cook much but his biscuits and gravy are legendary. Next time you make the sausage gravy, use maple sausage. You will never make it another way again.

    Or fried potatoes and 2 over medium eggs with the chicken fried steak, white gravy, and biscuits. With a big glass of milk

  14. You guys are eating the cinn rolls WRONG!! You gotta peel and eat it. Then you get the ewy gooey center as the last few bites.

  15. Here in Kentucky you will find gravy and biscuits as a staple in breakfast foods in the morning. My grandmother even made it sometimes I the evening as well. Along with bacon, fried potatoes, and jelly either apple or grape flavored. One would definitely leave the table filled. So many memories it's hard to count. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.

  16. Transplanted brit as a youth. Put some Country Bobs sauce or A1 in the gravy and mix it in. Browns it up and makes it look less like dog vomit.
