Is there a more airtight way to seal these?

I don’t see a rubber gasket on the jar. That would help.

Buy some rubber seals, red in color, at your local hardware store.

Love lightening jars. Easy to open with one hand, fast.

My MIL seals her cannabis in jars with vacuum seal lids. The lids have a valve that attaches to a machine that sucks out all the air in the jar. This keeps the cannabis green and fresh for years. We recently smoked some herb she grew in 2020 and it was as tasty as when it was freshly harvested.

Need a gasket for starters. Then there’s a product called ‘Ageless Oxygen Absorbers’ – looks like a little silica gel pack, removes the oxygen for long term storage. So if you’re putting some leaf in the pantry or basement or whatever, use an oxygen absorber. If it’s gonna be opened frequently and kept in regular use, the O2 absorber wouldn’t be necessary, as long as there’s a rubber gasket.

Hi all! This is catnip 😭 I didn’t even think about it being so similar-looking to weed, LOL. A great calming plant, tho 😃

  8. If you can’t find a rubber gasket, I usually put a layer of plastic wrap over the jar, then put the lid on. It isn’t airtight, but it’s much more fully sealed, for dried foods that you want to stay pretty dry. If you live in a legal place, you can also get the little weed-grade silica packets from a recreational shop (oh no, you might have to buy a bit to get the silica packet) and toss those in, too.
