At Asador Bastian:
This is the third bottle of this wine I’ve opened and my experience this time was more similar to my first experience with this wine in 2022 when I had it in Miami. Just stunning nose with super pure red fruits and lovely palate with ample acidity. We had this open for an hour or so before it was poured and it needed every bit of that, because it took another hour or so to really open up, but after that it was just sensational. It grew in power over the course of the evening and the finish was really where it shone ultimately. This was very similar to the Miami evening where we held the bottle upright for every last drop. Amazing. I have the Bonnes Mares on deck for later this week which I’m excited about.

Absolutely incredible, thanks for the nice notes on this legend. Was their any sort of that gamey, meaty umami thing too (which I often especially get in Gevrey wines), or much more about the pure fruit?
Nice. Bruno Clair makes good stuff, even at the lower levels. Les Champs Perdrix hits way above its weight class.
