Nespresso randomly stopped brewing pods the other day. A random one will work every now and then but mainly it makes the sound of it warming up and when it goes to brew it flashes orange twice then back to a solid white. Water runs as I've flushed the nespresso out and i have cleaned a lot of gunk off of the inside of it but no change. I am waiting in descaling liquid to be delivered today to try that.

Is it possible the machine is still just too dirty? Never had this issue before in the 2 or so we've had it. I've read it could be a barcide scanning issue but I don't know where the pods get scanned by the machine and we've never had any issues with pods before

Run the descaler once you get the liquid and it should be good. I want time tried to make my own descaler and it still was giving me a stupid orange light but once I ran the good stuff it cleared out. I’m not sure how it knows but maybe it detects the flow rate

Possibly the barcode scanner is dirty and can’t read the barcodes.

Doesn’t hurt to call customer service, they replaced my out of warranty machine for free.

  3. If these pics are after you’ve cleaned it then there is more cleaning to do. I use a paper towel after running the rinse cycle and get all of the oil and grounds out of the machine as best I can. That includes pressing the pod cup down and wiping the top of the centrifuge clean. I think that is where the barcode scanner is located. Looking at the pics there is a lot of oil and coffee grounds in that area.

Clean the head and the barcode scanner, then descale the machine and run two rinsing cycles.

I had to put a needle up the dripper. And it was all clogged with old gunk. That fixed my issue.
