Got a breakfast set in Asakusa and it came with this delicious miso soup. I’ve been trying to find out what green they used so I can recreate it. Any help appreciated thank you!

I think it’s shiso leaf, which makes every soup better.

  2. Inchworm by Crayola, which is a terrible name for a color btw. But it could also be Spring Green

If it smells like herbs, it might be Mitsuba (三つ葉). If it doesn’t, it could be Mizuna (水菜).

  4. Mitsuba probably, they aren’t negi and mizuna would be out of place, so leafy greens chopped like that in miso soup is probably mitsuba.

The shape of the leaf just left of center at the top of the bowl is definitely mizuna. Mitsuba leaves aren’t shaped like that.

Definitely mitsuba. It’s very popular in soups. I don’t like it much but it’s healthy and my mom always makes it

  7. I agree with the other comments saying mizuna, but also wanted to note that the fish is beautiful and looks suuuper tasty

The leaf at the bottom has the whole top of a shiso leaf.

Mitsuba looks like cilantro, so it’s def not mitsuba

Mizuna leaf looks like parsley and I think people are saying mizuna just because you mentioned parsley.

But that bottom leaf in your pic says it all.

Plus I grow shiso. I love it.

It belongs in the mint family but it def has its own taste.
