The Pauillac was powerful while not overwhelming—even before we let it breathe. It was woody and earthy with hints of dark fruit. While comparable, It was smoother and more complex than a 2020 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon (which I’ve also enjoyed). The Pauillac cab was unique and was a pleasure to drink! The best cab I’ve ever tasted! The French know what they’re doing I suppose.

  1. Pauillac55

Fun fact. In Parker’s first book “Bordeaux”, this fifth growth was left out by mistake.

  2. They also have a “sister” chateau called Lilian Ladouys in Saint-Estephe. Its delicious and punches way above its price!
