Found out my cat has progressive cancer today. While he was at the vet I baked Blueberry Lavender Pie as a distraction. It didn’t work, but here’s my heartbreak bake.

I’m so sorry for what happened with your kitty. (I’m taking my old cat to the vet tomorrow for a check-up. When the kitty is up there in years, a vet visit can potentially be devastating–so I’m kind of terrified.)

I found out this morning that my soul dog has a cancerous tumor on her face. Waiting on lab results for next steps but I only distracted myself watching holiday baking championship reruns — nothing so lovely as this pie. Sorry about your cat 🤍

Lavender ice cream with fresh blueberries is one of my favourite treats so I really hope to give this pie a try although it will not look nearly as beautiful as yours.

I’m so sorry about your baby being sick. I am also used to my cats living a long time and lost my sweetest boy a couple of years back at 11 to a tumor. It’s so hard. I baked a lot during that time too. And your pie is lovely.

The pie is beautiful. What’s your secret on the crust, it looks like you barely have any shrinkage. I read the recipe but it didn’t seem to go over that part (and yours looks way better/much less shrinkage than the one in the recipe).
