So many people get off on being abusive to service workers, but let’s think back to 2020 when they all completely lost their minds because they couldn’t go to Applebee’s or get a haircut.

The people flexing are usually insecure social bullies who want to remind service industry people that they’re miserable and their husband is fucking the secretary…jokes aside the feel the need to remind people who’s got more money.
For real though, in my experience women are way worse to retail and restaurant staff.
I was good at never taking it personally bc they’d bd gone soon enough but it got to some people.

Even if you are POS, being nice will get you your way more often
Like there is no reason not the be nice, altruistically or selfishly.

Very well stated. I just got laid off because a food runner mixed up ribeye and steak frites at the owners table. The owner threw the plate in the window and incessantly verbally beat me up. I was blindsided and thought I was doing a great job. I have never been soo hurt.

I’ll stand up for my restaurant families for sure. Even though I’m out, I’ll still be the first “pedestrian” to wipe up that spilled mess for you, because I know you’re busy, and it takes two seconds. Thank you, all of you. Tong click for all!

No one needs to be reminded of this. If someone’s such a fucking shithead they’re going to berate a customer service rep or waitress or whatever the rest of the year, they’re not going to NOT do it because it’s a stressful time of year, and if someone’s a decent human being they don’t need to be reminded about it in the first place. The post literally exists so people can pat themselves on the back for achieving the bare minimum of ‘Not being an absolute fuckface’.

Anyone who thinks this line of work is easy or simple is free to take a job and show us how it’s done.
Shit happens sometimes. I hope one day my life will be so easy that vanilla syrup in what should be a hazelnut latte is the worst thing I go through.
