I’m always on the hunt for quality Burgundy that doesn’t break the bank, and Givry — IMHO an underrated village in the Cote Chalonnaise — is a go-to for this purpose. This wine is from the monopole of Domaine du Clos Salomon, perhaps the best producer in Givry, so I was looking forward to finally trying it. They practice organic and biodynamic farming.
**Tasting Notes:** deep ruby color; powerful nose of juicy strawberry and black cherry; palate is bone dry, with medium- body, bright acidity, and silky tannins; tastes match nose, but it drinks a bit lighter than it looks; overall, absolutely delicious and a certified 4.6 out of 5 value banger at its $50 USD price point

Burgundy and guac is a gangster move. Cheers 🍷

Love Givry! Check out Lumpp, Cellier aux Moines, Ragot, Joblot and Desvignes if you can find them.

I had the 2016 vintage a few years back for only ~ $47 CAD from an SAQ store; incredible value and one of my most memorable wines. The wine seemed to evolve with every sip.

I hope the 2018 was just as impressive.
