Would you include these in a Christmas cookies box?
Chocolat cinkle cookies didn't turn out well- in my opinion, really ugly. But a family member said they were ok. Would you include them in a cookie box?

No, they don’t look great, although I’m sure they still taste great!

No they look like they’re molding
HomeOwner2023
Yes. But only for those who were naughty.

Mine don’t look much better. I don’t think crinkle cookies are the best looking cookies
hip2bking
Not in a Christmas box. Definitely in a Halloween Box!
In all seriousness, i would definitely eat these….maybe they could be on a “coal” side of a box of cookies juxtaposed with more traditionally festive cookies?
HottieMcHotHot
I would eat these up frankly.
tocoshii
The way the glaze has set almost makes them look like mold 😅 I’m sure they taste great

Toss them in powdered sugar again. Crinkle cookies are finicky. Did you do a regular sugar base before the powdered?
FitzVale
Next time roll in granulated sugar first, followed by powdered sugar. It works to keep the “crinkle”.

Make a cute Lil note that says “charred coal” cookies or something. Make the appearance seem intentional

These are a staple in christmas boxes where I live and I request a box of only these every year. Truly the best cookie.

Yes: sprinkle with a touch of icing sugar. They are fine…..

I actually love these, they remind me of a foggy forest
Low-Crab-8398
Absolutely but make a green version for the grinch and say that’s the theme
NextDetective1415
If they taste good heck yeah! Ppl are saying they look bad, I don’t think so, but I’m sure you could follow the tips given and they will look fine!
Downstackguy
Nah, cause Id finish them before I could
TiltedNarwhal
To sell it just to give out? I’m not sure I would sell, but they look fine to give out. I love crinkle cookies. I wish I could get mine to be poofy as yours. Mine keep flattening even when I chill the dough.
SplitBananaFxck
Depends, for family or it’s free, absolutely keep them in! They look delicious. If you’re selling the cookies, I would keep them out
Mahjling
Lump of coal cookies!! I’m in
kpeebo
Maybe if you can bury them under some prettier ones?
CalmCupcake2
Toss them in sugar again, and they’ll look great. That’s a thing with crinkle cookies, you need to refresh the coating before serving.

Those are some delicious looking space rocks.
sleepsypeaches
play them off like theyre coal!

I think they’re cute and rustic!! Some of these comments are so mean 😭 if you want to dress them up a bit maybe pipe a little holly sprig on them, or use a dab of icing to stick some holiday or winter themed edible stickers or similar
Ygoloeg
Nah. Eat them all yourself 😉
LemonLily1
I think they’re fine, I wouldn’t know anything was wrong with them. They’re not meant to be particularly pretty anyway 🙂
UndrPrtst
I like to crush candy canes and sprinkle them on top.
itsasadsecret
I wouldn’t personally. I make the same cookies every year.
HOPELESS-NON-TRAD
I would be sad if these were excluded
is-it-a-bot
Hell yeah! They look like coal, they’re for people on the naughty list!
Minute_Bumblebee_726
I would eat the shit out of those cookies, yum! It’s hard to get that powdered sugar just right so it stays dry and looks good. They still look tasty to me.
facebookmomwine
like others are saying they look like coal so yes i’d add them in!
SignificantlyBaad
Not to be mean or anything but it looks burnt and moldy at the same time, i wasnt sure what i was looking at for a good minute
ChiquiBom_
I’m making ube crinkle cookies for a Christmas cookie exchange! Who cares about how they look, I’m sure they taste amazing and that’s all I’d care about
Fascinated_Bystander
The sugar looks melted instead of dusted. I assume the texture is probably off too. I wouldn’t include them personally, unless I felt some type of way about the person.
Koganezaki
Give them to the mean family members
carcrashofaheart
This happens when the condensation from the dough gets soaked up by the powdered sugar.
I sell these and I always make them into balls first, let them chill in the fridge to sort of “dry out” the top for 10-15 mins. Then I toss them really quickly in the powdered sugar for a generous coating, plop onto baking trays and straight into the oven before they get the chance to absorb.
