Really disappointed. I ordered the Kaneshin AAA Uni from this site for almost $300.

Nothing like the pictures and was very excited to share with my dad for a sushi night. Does anyone have a better way to get Uni from Japan? Any other sites they can recommend or had good experiences with?

You need to find a more locally harvested source, anything directly outsourced from Japan to your personal home is going to be funky. Take into account processing/shipping/temperature control/wait time. No suggestions other than don’t do this again, lol.
I’ve had some pretty good interactions with Hokkaido Uni.. but yeah that doesn’t look good. Understandable if you don’t want to give them another change but I found that their Gokujo AAA tends to be consistently good (and also better packed).
Did you try it? I’m not sure I would actually.
I would like to edit this post but I do not know how as I want to be fair to the company. After emailing them and including a picture they promptly responded and offered a refund. It seems they have quality customer service and care about their product. Cheers everyone
