mmm. it reminds me a bit of one of my favorite pasta dishes from a restaurant in Texas: chipotle beef pasta. I recently discovered the recipe online:
“Brown sliced beef in olive oil with sliced red onions. Throw in a little garlic at the end of the browning, but don’t let it brown. The original recipe simply used cream, but I liked to deglaze the pan with a little marsala first. Add the cream, one whole chipotle with some adobo sauce (just use a big spoon to get the pepper out of the can and whatever sauce comes with it goes in). Bring the cream to a boil and toss in cooked penne pasta until warmed through. Serve immediately”

well that looks delicious and you need to start a Gyros & Pasta truck to drive around the city and feed the starving masses….

Possibly an obvious/dumb question, but for the gyro meat, did you simply dice up some meat after the initial bake and pop it under the broiler (instead of slicing it)? I’ve made the gyro meat before, and absolutely love it, but more surface area for broiling sounds pretty great!
