I’m having a hard time finding a clean smoker locally. I’m pretty stuck on an Old Country gravity fed smoker. The best one available locally has a damaged handle. They’re usually wrapped in rubber but this one has been damaged and partially ripped off

I checked shrink wrap tubing, but it appears the handles are completely encapsulated on the end, and shrink wrap tubing would leave the end relatively exposed and wouldn’t completely seal.

The lever is welded to the smoker so I can remove it.

Any good suggestions?

  1. They make heat shrink caps that are closed on one end. Not sure if they would shrink enough for what you need.

  2. Cut off the rubber. If it got hot it would melt anyway, so it doesn’t get hot.

Make one out of wood. I did something similar on a weber kettle that was missing the insulated handle. Not pretty, but definitely works and is way cheaper than buying something

Reach out to the manufacturer. With something like that. They would probably just send you one or let you order it. It looks pretty new, or you take good care of it, or both.

Pool noodle, pipe insulation, bike handle bar grips.
