I love just about every kind of pizza. We moved here earlier this year from elsewhere – a city that had no pizza fame whatsoever.
I know that everyone rags on deep dish if you consider yourself a Chicagoan (I mean, the crappy uncooked sauce of Lou Malnati’s turned me off for sure). But man, Pequod’s is the real deal. The huge chunks of tasty sausage on this thing look like they were hand pinched from a buncha ground sausage, the mushrooms were clearly fresh and the sauce was divine. The caramelized crust has no equal (from anything else I’ve tried here).
Anyway, unless you’re one of those tavern style or foldable pizza purists, go to Pequod’s.
