Hi, I’m fairly new to growing peppers (just started this year). I’ve been having a lot of fun learning about growing peppers and growing plants in general! Love the communities around it. I was wondering if anyone could help me by explaining three different things though…

  1. What’s causing my jalapeños to mature so small?
  2. Any clue what’s causing these silver/brownish bumps on the outside of them?
  3. I’m sure it may not be easy to tell off of these photos alone, but are these jalapeños to begin with? Or am I a victim of big peppergate?

Extra context: All of my peppers are grown indoors using two artificial lights, and one window of natural light during the day. I usually have the lights turn on when the sun goes down, and they stay on for 16hrs. I also have two oscillating fans that I turn on before going to bed. I had a fungus gnat problem until recently solved (mostly, because there’s maybe a handful still flying around, but no where near as bad as it was initially, annoying bastards they were!). I bottom water them about once a week, making sure that the topsoil never gets too wet. And I give them fertilizer+bone meal about every 2 weeks.

Any help/advice is highly appreciated and thank you in advance for taking time out of your day to answer my questions. If any extra pictures are needed, let me know ☺️

P.s. Don’t judge me for my zip tie jimmy rigging! It works! My dumbass forgot to put plant supports around them before they matured 😭

One possibility might be overwatering. I grow a few small pepper plants inside, and they do not like being watered frequently. It causes plant cells to burst. I say this cause of the curved and damaged leaves. I also can’t leave pots sitting in the runoff….
