Saw this in the hot pepper section of my local grocery store. There was no sticker, no product tab or anything. Checkout clerk had no idea what it was, and all the produce guy said was " These aren't supposed to be out yet, because we haven't received info on what they are".

Looks like if a Bell pepper and a Sharon fruit had a love child. First bite tasted like a mildly sweet bell pepper with no heat at all, but as you get closer to the placenta it kicked like a mule, with an instant, intense heat without any real flavor. The heat at least dissipated fairly quickly.

Just asking for ID out of curiosity, and I do not recommend anyone trying to get ahold of it, as it was a pretty unpleasant pepper!

Thanks in advance.

Is there something other than the level of heat that distinguish it from a Rocoto pepper? They look very similar to me and I can’t determine based on looks.
