Anova nano making periodic screeching noise, help?
It’s only been doing this for the last hour of the cook of my chicken breasts, if anyone could identify the noise/provide a possible fix, I would be thrilled! Also don’t judge my setup.
Thanks!

Hey! So, the unit has an electric coil and an impeller down at the bottom of the unit. [Here’s a video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6x_xokMgiY) (not the exact unit but similar) that shows a teardown. Ultimately, I think your impeller is acting up in some way. It could be that it’s rubbing up against something (debris or a loose part) or that the bearing in the impeller is letting loose; without opening it up, these are my guesses. *Edited to add video and grammar.

Yes. Exactly this comment. Mine occasionally gets bent in storage and it’s either a slight bend with the circulation or the base isn’t screwed on tight.

My Anova did this a lot when I first got it. I complained to Crate and Barrel, who shipped me a brand new one. Before the new one came, I slammed the bottom (impeller) down on the counter and it never made the noise again. That was almost 4 years ago. The replacement has yet to be opened.
I would say something with the impeller is unbalanced or pushed out. If you can adjust the height of the clip try to make sure it’s level and balanced, and the impeller is pushed all the way in.

Definitely haunted. Throw it out. Burn it. Get a new one.

I’ve had nothing but trouble with Anova junk. Tried three times. Never again. I use Inkbird now and have had no issues since. Anova also made a loud whining sound and made my lights pulse as its heater cycled on and off. Not so for the Inkbird.
