**Notes:** blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot; this was the first vintage the wine was certified biodynamic but it doesn’t look or smell “natty” at all — this is still classic Left Bank Bordeaux; deep ruby/purple color and viscous as you’d expect from a wine with this alcohol content (listed at 14.5% ABV); enormous nose of blackberry, tobacco, cigar box, and some sort of herbal tea or liquorice note that I couldn’t quite pin down; palate is full bodied and very tannic, but balanced nicely by some mouthwatering acidity; at this stage, tastes of ripe black fruit dominate the palate; very long, with a nice fruity finish whose only flaw is a bit of alcoholic bite at the end; a 14-year old wine that still drinks quite young and got better after being open for an hour; impressive, muscular wine, and a 4.7 out of 5 for me considering it sold for well under $100 USD upon release (though this vintage currently retails at $250+)

Funny…I was picking up wines at my storage place before thanksgiving and my boxes were on a palette with a couple of owc’s of P-C. I had immediate envy. This doesn’t help.

Thanks for the review! Gives me another gentle nudge.
