Anyone else make these as a kid?

Ham, ring of pineapple (a cherry in the middle if you're feeling fancy) and American cheese cooked under a broiler and served open faced.

  1. We had them. We lived in West Germany at the time and never saw anyone else make them after we left West Germany. Did you live in West Germany?

This is such a fun, weird, very regional snack. 😍

I wanna hate on this, but as a pineapple on the pizza type of guy, I would try this without hesitation.

Never heard of it until I saw it on the show Dark and from the other comments it’s obviously a German thing. Must be tasty

I feel like this would be better without American cheese… maybe something else. Cheddar? Not sure

I’m glad you are enjoying your comfort food.

    I’ll pass, thanks.

Looks like it comes from the same producers of Altoona pizza

Not sure how I feel about pineapple and American cheese…

  11. They look like orange buttholes but I would for sure try one.

I’ve never heard of this before and would have never guessed it was popular in Germany of all places. I’m guessing it’s because of the US military

Ive had it like that, but over **French** Toast. Hungover and didn’t realize what I ordered. When it came out I was surprised, but starving and not against things like this so I figured what the hell. Wound up going back for breakfast to the same place 2 more days in a row.

I’d love a drizzle of teriyaki sauce on it 😍

  16. When I was in Germany back in 2000 I ate this as it was a menu items I could read! They called it toast Hawaii and I still eat it to this day
