Impenetrable deep ruby red, almost heavy in the glass, great extraction.
Not a very intense nose, you really have to look for it in the glass. Black cherry and blackcurrant with a nice, little, vegetal hint, i'd guess something aromatic like maybe thyme or rosemary but i can't be sure. Notes of graphite dominate the background without ever disturb the overall balance. By the end of the glass the fruit gets a bit sweeter and earns more space.
In the mouth freshness is the keyword. The high acidity underlines how young it is and makes this big, complex wine so drinkable, you'd be able to enjoy a couple of glass of it even on a hot summer day. Very smooth tannins (medium+). The rest of the mouth follows this trend in an incredible balance, where the intensity of the acidity doesn't ruin the great elegance and equilibrium of this wine. Long, long, finish. 95/97 points
So, i was with my girlfriend and we got this wine by the glass in a local wineshop during their sassicaia event. It was been open for 3 hours, recorked and poured.
Onestly i was kinda disappointed after all. It was the first time for me drinking this wine and i thought it was going to be very different. First of all yeah, it was an infanticide, this wine obviousely needs to be forgotten in a cellar (bet you to forget about a 300€ bottle).
After that i need to point out that the lack of intensity on the nose was a killjoy for me, i spent one hour almost dipping my nose in the glass, without ever feeling satisfied.
Well, in the end i'd say the wine is great, unmatched elegance and balance but it didn't really hit the spot for me, i'd be curious to know if it was the same for anybody else since i've seen koff and wine king loving it in some cases and "talking shit" about it in others. At least i know where not to spend a crazy amount of money if one day i'll have to choose

Amazing wine.
Come si chiama il posto?
My understanding is that the 2020 wasn’t a ’great’ year for Sassicaia. Perhaps a 2021 or a 2019 would’ve left you with a greater sense of wonder
I’ve had 2020 Sassicaia twice in the past year, both in restaurants, but also fresh from the bottle.
I think this may be a function of bottle variation, storage conditions, temperature, or something else. We all have our own perceptions, but I’m not sure a weak nose is something I experienced either time.
