I had a Vertuo POP and just bought a new Vertuo Next thinking my POP was getting old.

I use the same travel cup every day and one day I left the POP unattended and my Alto capsule overflowed out of nowhere. I was very confused as for over a year I have been using the same cup and it was never an issue. Refer to picture 1 showing a new attempt with an Alto after descaling and cleaning.

Fast forward, I bought the new Vertuo Next machine thinking it would solve the problem. I got the same issue with the new machine and all other capsules too. Picture 2 I’m using Melozio.

Has there been an update to the software? I strongly believe that I am not crazy, and this is definitely more crema / foam than before because I have been using Vertuo since late 2022 and never had this much. It works out to 1:1 coffee to foam ratio which is strange.

PS: excuse the magazines below the POP machine, I had a nicer black box which I ruined with the coffee spill incident. I was going to buy the Nespresso drawer but I bought the Vertuo Next instead to mitigate the need to raise it.

I immediately noticed this when I switched from a vertuo plus to the pop. Glad it’s not just me experiencing this.

This is a wild question but are you using distilled water to fill your reservoir? I filled mine from the sink one time in a quick pinch and noticed it produced more crema weirdly enough

Vertuo Pop owner here and getting a lot of crema too. I assumed it was totally normal but it’s becoming slightly annoying.

    1) it’s not crèma it’s foam.
    2) Nespresso states you are suppose to fold it back into the coffee/Nespresso with a spoon. It says so in directions and on website. (Folding, not stirring)

I hate that it does this I wish there was a setting to not have it at all 😭

I *just 10 minutes ago* did a coffee pod into my hyperchiller like normal and it overflowed for the first time.

Super confused about it, why wouldn’t it be consistent?
