Easy & Cozy Dinner idea 🍲
Green chickpea in instant pot

Soak green peas for 4-8 hours. I soak mine overnight.
Peel, wash and dice 2 small to medium potatoes – cut them small and about half an inch in thickness.
Cut 1 small onion – red onion is best but you can use either.
Peel and finely chop 5 cloves of garlic
Either chop 2 small roma tomatoes; 4-5 cherry tomatoes or half cup of tomato sauce/paste.
Add spices according to preference: I added 2 red chili finely sliced
Optional- finely crush 8-10 funugreek seeds, mustard seed and black pepper (you can also just ard crushed black pepper)

Steps:
1. Turn your instant pot on and put it on high sauté
2. Add 2 tablespoons of butter/ghee or oil. (Ghee tastes the best, which is what im using in this recipe)
3. Once the ghee is properly melted and hot.
4. Add cumin seed, Crushed green chili and crushed mustard, fenugreek, and black pepper seed.
5. Once they start bubbling a little, add your minced garlic and onion
6. Sauté for 2-3 mins until the onions are translucent.
7. Add your potatoes, stir and let it cook for 1-2 mins.
8. Add 2 teaspoons of cumin powder
9. Add 2 teaspoons of coriander powder
10. Add 2 teaspoons of garam masala powder
11. Add 1 teaspoons of turmeric
12. Stir your spices into the mixture.
13. Add your soaked green chickpeas
14. Add either diced tomatoes or tomato sauce/paste (I’m using tomato sauce that I premade)
15. Add 1 bowl of water
16. Cover the instant pot
17. Cancel it from sauté
18. Put your instant pot on high pressure cook, with venting off for 35 mins.
19. Enjoy with some rice, bread or roti. 👨‍🍳🫶
