The American Legion Continental Post #1424 in Forest Hills provided a hearty Thanksgiving Meal to veterans and neighbors in need of a hot meal and some camaraderie. Led by Post Commander Michael Arcati and Vice Commander Pat Conley and other veterans and the Auxiliary, and the Knights of Columbus, the food was cooked and provided for the lunch. Members of the 6th grade class at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Academy, the Men’s Club of Forest Hills and Friends of the Legion set up the tables, decorated them and passed out pre-lunch snacks. Folks brought many delicious desserts. The invocation was delivered by Rob Schnell and John Kennedy, focusing on thanking our Veterans for their service, thanking each person for their presence, as well as all volunteers and food donations. It was truly a day for being thankful and sharing.
