(3-5) Opened tin, and krill in a bowl – I liked that I could tell these were krill, and that they were not mushy at all. They had the texture of cooked shell-on shrimp, but the shells were very tender and not obtrusive at all (Full disclosure: I eat fried shrimp heads and the tails on fried shrimp – DELICIOUSLY CRUNCHY and big shrimp flavor)
(6-11) Ingredients and process to make avocado toast spread – my Avos were too overripe to slice neatly oops. I used sliced toasted sourdough for the base
(12) I’m sorry – were you invited to the table, Beeper? I don’t think so, but that’s such a polite loaf you can stay – under VERY CLOSE SUPERVISION
(13-17) We felt like the toast needed something extra – so we tried a squeeze of lemon, a drop of Tabasco, sushi vinegar and 2 kinds of Old Bay. 2 liked best with a squeeze of lemon, I preferred a couple of drops of Tabasco.

I got this sample a couple of months ago, but when College Kid 150 mikes away heard about it, she BEGGED me to wait to crack this tin until she got home for Christmas. Kid arrived late Tuesday after finals, slept all day yesterday and today she wanted to try the krill!
First impression of the tin: There’s a lot of krill packed in here, and you can tell they are what they are. The krill are minimally processed, so they aren’t beat up. They are the beautiful pink of cooked shrimp.
I tried a bit of krill straight from the can. I liked the slightly firm texture of the krill, which probably comes mostly from their delicate shells. You can’t even tell the shells are there, but trust me: those shells add texture and flavor.
The krill out of the can tasted very clean, slightly salty and lightly shrimpy. I think these crustaceans can go in anything from dips to appetizers to chowders to main dishes (krill patties? Krill salad with remoulade? I think they will be easy to cook with.
The krill with the avocado sourdough toast was very nice – the crunch from the toast and tang from the sourdough contrasted nicely with the soft avocado and toothsome krill.
It was clear though that the krill needed some seasoning – definitely needed an acid. The consensus choice was to squeeze a few drops lemon juice into the krill, but my fave was a couple of drops of Tabasco sauce instead. There’s nothing like shrimp and Tabasco IMO.
Everyone liked the krill – I give it a solid 10/10 will buy again if I can find it. It’s a fun new product and it triggers my creativity to use it different ways.

Id try it looks good. I would never put that much pepper tho. Damn it changed the avocado a whole shade of gray lol. Great review
