Tomato newbie here!

I have some tomatoes which have been growing around various places in my back yard. Usually if they grow in my garden I'd get rid of them as they'd be competing with my other veggies. This season, I left then alone and here they are growing prolifically (and quite accidentally) in a pot with some ginger and carrot.

They have 5 petalled yellow flowers and grow tiny fruits (my small thumb there for comparison). Any idea on whether they are edible? Tips to make fruits bigger? Also when should I pick them? They seem to drop off before they are fully ripe and get eaten by bugs once on the soil.

Thank you!

There are thousands of tomato varieties so that would be hard to tell. It looks like you have cherry tomatoes which don’t get very big but are usually more flavorful.

It looks like you have several plants in your pot. You should thin them out to one plant, otherwise it will grow into a thick mass.
