Best German food I’ve had in the city, plus an excellent beer selection

Dondé? Hadn’t heard about them opening. But glad to have a true German spot. I liked the veg German place for the outdoor space and beer, but never made sense food wise.

Holy shit. I’ve been dying for an authentic schnitzel! Having one in Munich blew me away and I haven’t found one in LA that hit the spot in a similar way.

We went there last night! The Beignets and ice cream dessert was bomb.

I got the pretzel chicken schnitzel there that was topped with a beer cheese and I couldn’t stop myself from inhaling it

I guess if it’s open I didn’t get the job

The goulash slaps. I live nearby, so glad this place exists.

Wasn’t that a vegan spot or something? Didn’t realize it had changed.

I went there the week it opened. The food is good, a nice German beer selection, but some parts the menu needed to be rewritten to improve clarity. If they actually did that, I would have no complaints about the place.

Highly solid food and beer choices! Hope they break the curse on that space (the last two restaurants there closed up), because it looks like a great venue for watching Dodgers games next year..

Does anyone know how this compares to rasselbock on the west side? Their menus look pretty similar

I never want to slag a place that’s just alright but also feel the need to warn people who might actually travel to eat here – mediocre at best. The currywurst was atrocious, could tell it had been boiled like a hot dog, not great sauce slopped everywhere including all over the fries instead of a nice little wiggle. Don’t know if I’ve had a wurst rendition.

Polish sausage was best part. Cooked more like a sausage should be. All the sides lacked flavor, even just salt. I make much better spatzle and I have no idea what I’m doing.

I could get nitpicky about the beer selection but better than average for being so focused on German beer. All in all, Wurstkuche is a better experience.

Wild that in a period of about a year Highland Park went from having 0 schnitzel options to having 3 schnitzel options (Belle’s, Highly Likely, and Kiez).
