Falanghina was fab. Great aromatics. The palate had a bit of weight to it. Wondering if it went thru a lil ML?

PYCM was bonkers. Whiff of char early on. Very muted. Took an hour to finally open up. Chiseled AF. Mineral driven pretty much. Tart lemon and these exotic Thai herbal things…? (This promoted much discussion). PALE LEMON COLOR. STILL A BABY

Terre Nere Prephylloxera was super fun. Delicate & barnyardy. The color was interesting. Deep garnet core still, but turning caramel at the rim. Still fresh.

  1. That’s a really great lineup! Wish I had been invited

PYCM is one of those wines that I’ve had multiple people say “can it be that good” and then they have it and then everything changes.

Terre Nere Prephylloxera is a wild wine, truly one of a kind. I have a 2021 in the cellar waiting for a special day several years from now.

Yo, keep Ciro Picariello on the downlow please.

  5. Any more detail on the etna? I’ve been wanting to pick up a recent vintage of that bottle to cellar, but no idea how it’ll progress.
I’ve personally never like a Falanghina, always too weighty and clumsy.

PYCM makes some amazing stuff that needs plenty of time but delivers way above it’s price point 👌

  7. PYCM is the greatest chardonnay made right now for under 1k/btl. Excellent value and mind-blowing highs.
