Been struggling to get a respectable medium rare. How did I do?

I cooked it in a cast iron skillet on high heat for three minutes on both sides, and butter basted it during the second half.

To me this is on the low end of medium, perfect for a ribeye or fattier cut.

Looks fantastic, the only thing I’d add is searing the fat for a few minutes first, phenomenally cooked tho

  4. Lol I think you’re going to get roasted on this sub for the grey band but honestly looks tasty AF to me. 3 minutes a side is a lot for me tho, and this does look medium, not MR.

Great crust though from what I can see. And baked potato to accompany is beautiful and underrated. Hope you enjoyed.

Photos tend to make steak look more cooked than it actually is. I trust you that this is a medium rare IRL and can confirm I would eat the crap out of this.

  6. Try cold searing. Or reverse searing. These things works perfectly

A little overcooked for rare meat but I would still enjoy it 😅🤤

It is medium, the fat needed some extra pressing against the pan, that’s all. Looks delicious, well done
