So I’m taking a friend put to dinner tomorrow as a thank you, and my budget is about $100-$120 per person (neither of us drink).
I suggested a few places in that price range ( Galit and Bayan Kho for tasting menus, Boka for a la carte) and also mentioned Maman Zari in Albany Park, which is getting a lot of raving reviews.
Frankly I’m a little skeptical, because looking at their menu makes it seem much like the other Persian restaurants in Albany Park but with just small portions and design-y plating. I’m wondering if all those raving reviews are from people who just don’t know Persian food very well.
I am a regular at both Kabobi and Noon o Kabab – I live in the area.
I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth it to go to Maman Zari and am wondering if anyone who knows Persian food would also recommend it.
Any other suggestions for a restaurant that’s open tomorrow night in the $100-$120 range would be welcome too!
