First-time trying royal icing on a sugar cookie, wet-on-wet technique because I didn't have patience to do thick and thin batches.

Taste: Amazing! Moist cookie with subtle almond flavor and perfectly balanced icing.
Look: Most of them took their cousin to prom

Any tips or does it just take lots of practice?

Thick and thin batches not required! A lot of people use a single consistency (a flood icing on the thicker side, something that evens out in 10-12 seconds). Outline your cookies first with a thin line and that will act as a dam to hold the flood in!

    You’re amazing.

These look similar to mine except yours are way better 😅

I really like the tree one! I watched a video to use a lot less icing when you’re doing wet on wet. It’s adding more volume and if you’re already maxed out it’s gonna spill over.

In the end they all taste great 😂

  6. I only make a tiny thick batch for edges and that makes flooding so much easier. I’d eat these 😀
