Looks more like Domino’s type deep pan than a thin NYC style slice.

  1. Plenty of NYC style places in LA. Poor production work by the crew.

So many LA sitcoms do this. It looks like 7-11 pizza to a NYer.

More stable. Less chance of flop. That would be my guess as to why they do it. Or just an oversight

  4. Silly question – did pizza places in the city ever use those white plastic things (in the 90’s, early 2000’s)? Or were they phased out due to plastic, waste etc. I feel like I’ve never really seen them – moved to the city around 2006.

  5. Having eaten a ton of both deep dish and NYC pizza, this looks more like NYC pizza than deep dish. Unless deep pan is some in-between. This just looks like fast food pizza. Dominos has about this thickness. EDIT: Edit because I immediately felt stupid defending this show lol. There are just so many other good things to tear apart on this show that this feels like small peanuts, I guess.

  6. Albeit, thicket than a classic NYC slice, the 2nd photo is definitely not deep dish. You can fold deep dish.

It’s not deep dish or pan pizza, it’s just someone’s bad idea of what thin crust pizza looks like.

    “Terrible sitcom eats bad pizza”

    Neat. Nobody cares.

The issue with these images is the nice stove, dining table in the kitchen, full-sized fridge, and ample cabinet and counter space

I don’t think you grasp the concept of Chicago deep dish. But also you made this pointless post so I’m not surprised

  11. I realize a lot of people love that show but it’s so bad to me and this doesn’t help

I mean, it’s a terrible show, what did you expect?

  13. wilderdeliverance

They do the same thing in Seinfeld too.

  14. With a budget of $1M per actor per episode, I would think they could afford to get proper NY style pizza in LA.

  15. ChornWork2

that looks more like normal crust than deep dish. def not thin crust.

FOLKS please learn the difference between [deep] pan and deep dish. I am not suggesting this is deep dish. It’s like Pizza Hut

  17. itsjscott

It’s probably frozen pizza from a grocery store because, you know, it’s a friggin sitcom filming on a TV set

Seinfeld did this too. They’re shooting for hours and hours. Any food you’re using is going to get cold and soggy. Thin crust pizza isn’t going to hold up as well under those conditions.

More importantly, the show was shot in LA.

  19. The fact that none of them fold their pizza says that this was a very LA show.

Other things on Friends that do not feel like NYC: literally everything.
