On sundays we take a whole bag of pepper corns and put them through a blender for easy use during the week.

  2. KingoftheUgly

No robocoup or regular spice grinder? This looks like harder and dumber work

  3. BodybuilderDue4035

I remember back in 2012 I had a Job where we made around 40 pounds of mash potatoes the boss had a drill with a cement mixer attachment that we had to use ,I have to admit it worked great I never tough much of it till I actually became older and noticed all the problems with that .

  4. And refill every minute… Surely no dedicated spice grinders exist. /s

  5. theMIKIMIKIMIKImomo

    Good job grinding that spice!

You know, in this industry, a lot of ground spice is needed. Someone should invent something that grinds the spice for you. But what name would you give to such a spice grinding device?

Dude don’t let the tip of the drill touch the peppermill. It’ll rub off the plastic into your peppercorns ffs. If it’s metal it rub off the powder coating.

Just go buy a coffee/spice grinder. [This is what I have](https://hamiltonbeach.ca/custom-grind-coffee-grinder-80393rc). They are cheap, work to any size grind, and can do what you had done in that bowl in less than 5 seconds.

  7. you will burn the plastic parts spinning that fast

  8. TechnicalAd8103

Why do I get the feeling that shavings of some sort (metal and plastic) is also falling into the bowl.

Spice grinders are not designed to spin at 1000 RPM.

  9. Yo bros relax. We just had a little fun in the kitchen. The drill was laying around and i came up with the idea. I know a thermomix and a robot coupe would do it more efficiently

This would be fun table side. “Say when” followed by ugga chugga

  11. Low_Pool_5703

Blender. Sift the results. You’ll be done in 30 seconds.

Plastic and metal inclusion. My favorite part of a dish.

  13. Ok_Quit_7481

We just use a commercial coffee grinder. Fill the hopper with peppercorns and push the button to grind them as needed.

I did that with a manual coffee grinder about 25 years ago.
I’ve since got an electric grinder… much simpler.

I also own a spice grinder, but I didn’t want to mix with coffee.

  15. I my be a simple person that cooks at home, but I think my coffee/spice grinder could do that in a few swings and not possibly fuck up my grinder and end up with metal or ceramic bits in my pepper.

  16. chefdrewsmi

Alton Brown did this on good eats years ago.

Hello my dudes ,it sounds as if you have missed the holy grail of pepper grinders . It’s made by mannkitchen and is £175 . Made of billet aluminium and has a stainless burr with propper sealed bearings , grinds pepper at a seriously fast rate, 1/10 of a turn in enough for most dished , loads of YouTube videos on it ect.
Expensive yes, cheap like me ?…..

Amazon do an excellent copy that may as well be in the same factory for £40 made by whiterhino also billet alli, also stainless burrs .i’ve been using the copy for over a year now. 100% would recommend it as a holiday gift to yourself , all other pepper grinders are just shithouse compared , I’ve retired my trusty peugeot grinder to the back of the cupboard somewhere . It’s so good that its got a permanent home in my knife box . I take it when going to other people’s houses if I’m helping to cook or to other sites for work and even on holiday and a to a stag do where I was bbqing .

I don’t think you should have power tools in the kitchen unless something needs fixing. Unsanitary

  19. bearysleepy

at that point, wouldn’t it be better to just get pre-ground pepper and put it in like a salt shaker?

  20. SainT2385

We have a big commercial coffee grinder we fill with peppercorns. when we need it ground we flip the switch and fill up. You can do a whole qt in like 15 seconds

  21. Is this a sign . . . 🤔

I literally saw Alton Brown do this yesterday on a Heat Eaters episode with Esther Choi 😆

  22. ComfortableToe7508

I bet a coffee grinder is smarter than that drill

  23. Rinaldootje

Ok so hear me out, Instead of an electric drill that does max. 2000 RPM.

Lets hook it up to a 8000+ RPM 2-stroke engine.
    4 time the speed efficiency!
