Checked my first tomato plant today to find hundreds of these insects in the pot. What are they, and what action should I take?

I believe they are fungus gnats.

There is a product called dunkems. They are tablets that are put in standing water to prevent mosquito larvae from hatching. It also works on fungus gnats. Crush up the tablet and mix it into the soil. Fungus gnats breed and lay eggs in the soil.

I use Canncontrol from Mammoth. It works awesome.
