If this post isn't allowed, please let me know. Ive moved out of the city, and I'm really missing Cherry Street Bar-B-Que. It was always AMAZING, and was my go to comfort food. My pregnant self is aggressively craving their potato salad lately, but I'm too far away to get it anymore.
Can anyone identify any of the ingredients in the potato salad so I can try to make something similar? I'm seeing potatos, vinegar, black pepper (lots), chives, egg…? I don't know what those little seeds are. It's a unique tangy taste compared to every other potato salad!
Sorry for the odd post, I'm desperate to get my hands on this salad again 😅 If you're ever in the area, they're absolutely worth a try!

The seeds are grainy mustard
Holy crap, their potato salad is unreal. It’s amazing I really hope someone post how to make it, or at least a similarly awesome potato salad recipe.
I haven’t had it, but the technique from Serious Eats of immediately dressing got potatoes in vinegar is really great and might be something they do if it’s both tangy and creamy.

Probably a German style potato salad but more mashed up like an American one:

Their mac n cheese is pretty great too!
Check out the “Cooks Illustrated” (magazine/PBS cooking show) method of potato salad cookery. They did a methodical analysis to determine best results and their findings have become pretty widespread and embraced by the potato salad cognoscenti of the world.
Used to work down in that area every day for a couple years. Each Friday id grab lunch there. Brisket burger I think? Was always so friggin good lol.
Potato
Best BBQ I’ve ever had.
I haven’t had it in ages, but grainy mustard, lard, and vinegar if I remember right
They use a buttermilk ranch dressing, if that helps at all?? It gives it that tang and way more flavour than just a mayo base. But now I’m craving their brisket and cornbread, so we’re in this together.
This looks like the great South Indian dish “Upma” 😂
