Ground meat does not usually go in a slow cooker unless you cook it first.

Well, you boiled it so it’s not gunna be brown, but the colour doesn’t matter, it’s the temperature that will determine if it’s cooked or not.

Not cooked. And I know what your thinking, “well I’ll just throw it in a pan and brown it real quick.” Don’t do that either.

I am sorry because that sucks

  4. I’ve cooked ground meat in my slow cooker plenty of times. It doesn’t need to be cooked first.

I can’t imagine why it would still be raw after 7 hours though. Especially on high. But if youre worried pop it in the oven for a bit.

I don’t understand cooking ground turkey in a slow cooker. I think I’d have a hard time convincing my dog to eat that… I’ve seen dog food that looks more appetizing.

Are you sure that’s meat? Looks like refried beans 🤢

I think what’s happened is it went from pink->brown>grey because it’s so overcooked. Check with a meat thermometer but that’s certainly enough time to cook it through???

Also just a suggestion but you can buy turkey parts on the bone (or splurge on turkey breasts) for a very good price that will come out nice and soft in the slow cooker and be much tastier and appealing 😊
