I try to avoid total wine, but since Costco only had handles of Irish cream I found an excuse to venture in. I found this for $100 among the piles of “winery direct” crap. Cellartracker notes suggested it was (somewhat surprisingly) open for business, so figured why not?
It does not disappoint. It’s definitely rich in ripe cherry and raspberry; the hot vintage is apparent. But it remains elegant and beautifully balanced. The fruit is followed by iron ore, smokey game and sweet fines herbes. Medium bodied and medium acidity with fine-grained tannins.

I found a gazillion of these for like $70 in a window in a terrible wine shop in ct. I may take a stab at them if I cross again.
