It's another weekend download thread where you can sound off about your latest adventures in food!
My favorite bite of the weekend was Shrimp-mas at the San Pedro Fish Co (LB location) — just a big ol' platter of cajun-seasoned shrimp, potatoes, peppers and onions served while you watch the sun set behind all the docked boats ain't too shabby.
How about you? Did you eat anything memorable this weekend? Are you getting your holiday food on??

Went to Smorgasburg to look for some holiday gifts, and it was sadly pretty light on vendors.
I did get some food from Saulito’s BBQ, which was a smoked potato topped with brisket, (unmelted) cheese, and spicy bbq sauce. It was very good, but should have been much hotter, and I would have loved to see the cheese melted on top.
My husband got a Caprese foccaccia from Glad with added prosciutto, and it said it was one of the best things he’s ever gotten at the market.
We also went to R+D Kitchen in Santa Monica. The burger was delicious, as always, but I hate that they cut it in half – an absolute mess to eat.
Had Pizza Cafe LA in Silver Lake for the first time, outstanding. Located at Rowena & Fletcher on arguably the worst intersection on the eastside, they offer several styles and we got the classic pepperoni and the dough/crust must have been sourdough because the chew was wonderful
Tried Broken Mouth and loved the food! The tofu, the cucumber “kimchi” (not pickled really so didn’t seem like kimchi, more like sliced cucumbers in a spicy sauce), the rice, and the Korean greens were all great.
Didn’t like arriving there at 3 in the afternoon and finding out there was a 60-90 minute wait after ordering, but now we know for next time.
I had Humble Bird in NoHo for the first time on Friday. It was really nice! I don’t have much more to say beyond it was solid and is probably one of the better chicken spots I’ve tried around the area.
finally checked out Belle’s… not quite sure abt the breakfast sandwich ngl. i feel like i’ve had better but it was solid. my fiancée got the sandwich with salmon skin but i didn’t take enough bites to have an opinion on it. surprised it’s so busy though!!
we also went to hui tou xiang in hollywood and that was yummy! idk if it’s up there with the typical other dumpling and dim sum places i usually frequent but i enjoyed it. if i had to choose i’d go to xlb dim sum from here on out
Finally made it to Camelia, it was as good as advertised (but very loud and scene-y, and the host desk had issues with making reservations wait which I’d been warned about — I think they overbook). Everything was great but the agebitashi and gratin of beans were maybe the favorites.
I had Salt Cure’s after seeing someone recommend it on here. Those griddle cakes were everything along with the biscuits and gravy.
Rasarumah in Filipinotown (Malaysiann) was quite yummy! Not really vegetarian/vegan friendly tho.
Had an incredible delivery pizza from Emmy Squared. Detroit-style with beef sausage, ricotta, and basil (from my own garden). For my palate, Emmy Squared is putting out some of the best, most flavorful pizzas in the city.
Had the special at nong la in sawtelle and it was so flavorful and filling!!!!
The new barbecue pop up inside Citizen Market in Culver City is incredible. I got the brisket cheesesteak and the potato salad and both were immaculate.
Fried artichokes, mixed green salad and a bianca pizza at Leopardo. All good. They bring the pie whole and you cut it with scissors. The crust is super puffed and crispy, kind of like the focaccia at Antico’s.
Hiccup in the service, but they plied us with some comped items.
