Every year, my mother would make her Fresh Apple Cake for my birthday and then for Christmas. Before she passed away she needed help stirring so I helped her and learned how she made it. I have continued her tradition.

It’s so beautiful that you’re keeping her with you by keeping her tradition alive! Before he passed a few months ago, my dad planted pumpkins. I turned one of them into a lovely pie for Thanksgiving. it was really nice to have a piece of him with us, even though he wasn’t at the table.

Is that an Apple Dapple Cake? It was one of the recipes that went viral during the pandemic on r/Old_Recipes. I’ve made it and it’s delish! Do a little Reddit search on Apple Dapple Cake for Redditor recommendations or a regular Google search will turn up recipes too.
