You could be a Canadian sniper if that’s how you “take a shot”. Bloody beautiful.

Came for the beautiful trim job, left with a money shot

    Well done OP

Looks fantastic. Do you think tying it up would make it any better next time or too much extra effort without added benefit?

The thinking is the more round the roast is, the more evenly cooked it will get but it looks like similar temp all the way around. Maybe slightly more done at the edges but that could be due to a sear.

  4. Never made a prime rib before. Is it traditional to cut off the bones?

Can you share the details of your cook and prep?

My Christmas got messed up. I was supposed to do a prime rib at home. Next year I already staked my claim for doing it. Anyone else that has different plans can go their own way

  6. Looks good. However is it just me cause every time I see a rib roast I want to cut it up into ribeye steaks.

My 7 year old would murder me for taking that much fat cap off (he’s a bean pole and that’s his fav part), but you did an exceptional job start to finish. Good show.

  9. That’s a nice one!

Good cap on it and adequate marbling.
