The recipe:
It’s a real adjustable recipe with things that can be taken away or added
However for me
Lettuce, tomatoes, onion and cucumber are a must in the salad. It’s tastes best with fresh and crunch and juicy ingredients. How much of each you add in is up to you.
The dressing is also very loose. I use a ratio of 2:1 So 2 olive oil : 1 Lemon juice plus seasoning of salt and pepper.
Saying all of that, I still wanted to give my preferred recipe:
1 cup of lettuce
1/4 cup of cucumber and same of tomatoes
Two slices of onion rings (separate with fingers before tossing in salad)
**I like onion if you don’t take it down to one slice
1tbs olive oil
1tsp lemon juice
Tip of tsp of pepper
1/4 tsp Salt is what I like (adjust to your taste by adding in little by little until your happy with it)
Can always add salt but cannot take it away so be careful.
This is a perfect accompaniment for nearly anything hot, warming and comforting. Fried rice, pizza, kebabs, pasta, lasagne etc.
