Awww it’s so cute! Congrats! It’s cherry?

  4. Alternative_Brush300

It looks like a solid first try! Did you follow a recipe or simply add a lot of salt to it? Is it cranberry filling? It could just be rather sour since it looks like fresh cranberries.

Pretty impressive, never having baked a pie before and you went for the lattice crust? That is a challenge! Keep up the good work!

  6. cassielovesderby

I’d definitely get the pastry down pat before attempting to lattice, but you did way better than I could the first try!!!

You should be proud of yourself! You did great.

  8. Treepixie

Congratulations! I also made my first pie today, a gluten free apple one. Yours looks delicious!

Okay I know people are saying the crust is THICK and I do agree but I LOVE THICK CRUSTTTT , I don’t really eat pie but when I do I enjoy a little extra crust w a little pie LOL . This is great OP ! Good first try 🙂

Pies are REALLY hard and I give you tons of credit for doing it from scratch and for posting here. My husband (who most definitely has never made a pie) will roll his eyes at colleagues who claim to bake pies from scratch and then admit to using store bought fillings or crusts. The tips here are good ones but really, practice and you’ll figure out what YOU like (maybe a little less salt????) and will be able to churn them out like nobody’s business.

Omg I’ve been making classic pies forever and honestly this looks more appealing than any I’ve ever made

  14. mackattack-77

Honestly for a first pie, a lattice crust and cranberry fillings? That’s a tall order but it looks great! Keep it up and you’ll have people asking for your pies all the time!

  15. Footsyfox

No one is commenting on the (endearing!!) camera blur! You did great, and your enthusiasm makes this all the better

  20. Bhamrentalhelp

Was the crust rolled out or piped? Definitely agree with everyone here, this is the cutest pie

  21. Easy-Concentrate2636

    What an adorable chunky pie.

Looks lovely! Fyi you’re vision might need to be checked if you didn’t realize that most the pictures are blurry or have a smudges in the lense. That’s how we realized my sister needed glasses.

The photos really emphasize the excitement lol
