I may be a little late to the party, but here are some recipes I’ve been excited to try this holiday season! I’m hosting Christmas dinner at my mom’s this year and wanted to prepare some dishes that will impress my guests—but still be simple enough to put together, and of course, taste amazing!

Some of the recipes I share are from the LCBO food and drink magazine (which I’m obsessed with and will get every season), Nadia Bakes Cookbook, and one original dessert recipe with some baking mix help 🙂

– Lemon Turmeric Accordion Potatoes
– French Onion Blue Cheese Tart
– Tea-Riffic Sangria
– Reindeer Brownies (a special holiday dessert!)

Lemon Turmeric Accordion Potatoes (LCBO FOOD AND DRINK MAGAZINE WINTER 2025)

You will need:
1 lemon
5-6 yellow potatoes
7tbsp of butter
Salt to season
1 tbsp turmeric
1 onion finely chopped

1. Heat 7 tbsp of butter in pan and add thinly sliced onion. Saute until translucent. Add 1tbsp of turmeric, salt to season and mix.
2. Preheat oven to 350F
3. Slide potatoes or use mandoline to make potato circles 3mm thick.
4. Place potato’s in stacks in the pan with butter, onions and turmeric.
5. Juice half the lemon and thinly slice remaining lemon and place throughout the pan in between potato layers.
6. Place remaining tbsp of butter in chunks in between potato’s evenly throughout pan.
7. Salt on top and add 100 ml of water.
8. Cover in foil and bake for 50min. Take foil off for remaining 10 min.
9. Squeeze fresh lemon juice on top, top with fresh thyme and sour cream if desired. Serve immediately.

Tea-riffic Sipper (LCBO FOOD AND DRINK MAGAZINE WINTER 2024)

You will need:
6 bags of tea
pitcher
Honey
Frozen fruit
Sparkling water

1. Steep tea in pitcher with – liter of water and remove tea bag according to tea preparation instructions.
2. Sweeten with sweetener of choice.
3. Cool and place in fridge overnight.
4. Pour 100ml of tea concentrate into glass with 100 ml of sparkling water.
5. Add desired frozen fruit.
6. Enjoy!
