Scooped up the bambino plus on Christmas thanks to a nice 40% employee discount at my wife's work. Snagged the niche on fb marketplace about an hour ago. I guess it's time to learn how to pull a shot now?

Yeah dawg, just run a blank shot to heat up the group head before you put your portafilter in, and In my experience with the bambino before Im ready to steam I backflush water for about 7 seconds using the little rubber disk and after it gives a little more steam power. I’d also suggest you do everything manually by you controlling shot time and you manually steaming. I don’t like being closed into the automatic timing of shots.

I’ve had the regular bambino for a few years now. Love it.
Mine had to be calibrated out of the box (double shot volume was way off). Instructions should be in the manual for that adjustment.
Only thing I did from day one is dedicate a filtered water pitcher to it. Lots of calcium in our local water. The BWT filters seem to work well. It only has asked for cleaning three times in two years. The regular drip coffee maker also runs better with the filtered water.

Just don’t get too caught up in the science, it’s a slippery slope

Exact same setup! Bought a Bambino plus and found someone selling a used Niche on marketplace. Love the combo!

  4. Exact setup I was thinking about, but ended up ordering eureka specialita since niche was a bit too expensive. Would love to see how you like the setup!
