In keeping with Korean tradition, I had red bean porridge [팥죽] for the first time on the winter solstice to ward off evil spirits and bad luck… hopefully improving my odds in 2025!

    I am usually not a fan of red bean anything, so I had a small portion of the porridge… and ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would have! Although sugar can be added for taste, I opted not to.
