Some of the 150-plus volunteers at Wednesday’s Hot Meals USA Christmas Dinner, prepared at and distributed from Kearney’s Mom and Dad’s BBQ restaurant, filled containers for curbside pickup while another group packaged delivery meals. Hot Meals founder Dick Cochran had expected to serve more than 2,500 meals, but the gravy and cake ran out at 11:30 a.m. By 12:30 p.m., pulled pork had been prepared after the turkey was gone and more green beens were cooked.
