It came with a sourdough making kit my mom gifted me for Christmas. I am at a loss.

It’s a danish dough whisk. You use it to mix the ingredients together.

danish whisk. use it to mix dough (unless you have a mixer)

Danish whisk. For mixing your flour and water. A lot less messy than using your hands.

Dough whisk that I find very helpful for getting a dough started when first combining wet+dry ingredients. Once the dough starts to come together, I’ll switch to my hands. But it does save a lot of mess on your hands for that initial mixing.

A dough whisk. I bought one, it was cheap (under $10 for two) and the first time I used it, I loved it. Much less mess when doing the initial mix of wet and dry ingredients. It’s great until it’s time to knead.

A wonderful dough whisk. For sourdough, I don’t even use a mixer. Just the whisk and my hands.

After reading the comments, I’m pretty sure it’s a danish dough whisk lol

It’s a dough whisk. We got one when we bought a bread making set – that looks exactly like the one in the set.

I believe it’s some kind of whisk. Upon reading the comments, I am getting this notion that it might be a Danish dough whisk.

I’ve never used the metal part to mix my dough. I find its faster to use the wood.

From what I’m seeing it’s to mix ingredients together?

Seems like a fun tool but a normal spoon works for me.

  12. Got one of these for a gift 2 months ago. After 5yrs of sourdough making without one, I never want to be without one! They’re awesome

Magic is what that is. Everyone else has already told you what it’s for, but I legit felt like a magical girl ala sailor moon when I got mine. In my kitchen hollering “ingredients…. Incorporate!” before making a dough that I’d have had to get my hands into without it lol

Love it. Great for making biscuits. So good I gave away 8 with Christmas gifts.

Danish whisk isn’t just for dough. They work great for gentle mixing of lots of stuff – especially muffins! Super helpful for not over mixing a batter.

Prof Doug E Fresh-Newest teacher at Hogwarts’ wand. He can conjure up the BEST sourdough! Perfect-o Rise-um!

We call it the Danish Bapper. Good for dough mixing and light self defense.

The holy grail of preventing dough from sticking to your hands.

  19. I don’t think it’s really much better than a wooden stick or spoon tbh. The dough starts becoming too thick to pass through the whisk VERY quickly. I noticed no increase in speed or texture using a mixing spoon.

Fairy Wand to help you mixing your dough ✨️

  21. My daughter had one in her utensil drawer. She happily passed it along to me as she never used it. It does a great job mixing the wet and dry ingredients.

Do yourself a favor, gift this to someone else and use a fork.

Danish whisk! I’ve never tried one but a bunch of my baker friends love their’s.

Looks cool, just as effective as a wooden spoon or silicon spatula.

  25. Usual_Eggplant_1381

    It’s a dough whisk and it’s wonderful

  26. For anyone who’s lost 100g of dough sticking to your hands at the initial mix stage. It’s a huge time saver.
