PennLive has reported on Pennsylvania’s favorite Thanksgiving foods, from the main to side dishes.

Now, the Keystone State’s favorite Thanksgiving dessert has been revealed.

Online-Casinos.com conducted and published a study that covered each U.S. state’s favorite sweet they like to consume after the turkey has come and gone.

Pennsylvania’s was the national favorite: classic, scrumptious, all-American pumpkin pie.

“Across a whopping 37 states, the beloved, brightly-colored pumpkin pie is the top Thanksgiving dessert,” the study reads. “Its combo of warm, spiced filling and flaky crust scream fall, and for many, it’s simply not the holiday season without it.

“From coast corner to coast corner, pumpkin pie reigns supreme.”

The second most popular Thanksgiving dessert, beloved by states such as Indiana, was another classic — apple pie — while pecan pie took home the bronze.

Researchers at the website managed to find these top desserts by sending out a survey to about 2,500 people across the country. And what they found didn’t stop at the sweets, either.

According to Online-Casinos.com, 54 percent of all respondents stated they prefer white meat to dark (31 percent). The remaining 15 percent don’t care either way.

Additionally, 25 percent prefer a “middle of the road” application of gravy. Mashed potatoes, too, were found to be America’s top side dish, although Pennsylvania — contradicting the findings of one other study — was found to prefer green bean casserole, instead.
