Sometimes I visit my family in Israel, and in an Arab neighborhood, there is a bakery that makes pastries with dough similar to puff pastry, filled with a large piece of sulguni cheese. On the outside, the pastry is lightly covered with sesame seeds.
I really love this pastry, but it doesn’t even have a name except for "cheese pastry." I think it’s something this bakery has been making for many decades. Perhaps someone can tell me if it has a specific name and where I can find something similar in Toronto?
