The Christmas light plane at Lake Hood has been a holiday hot spot, as people from all over have driven to take pictures and soak in the Christmas spirit.
That makes the Zerkel family happy, as their now 10-year-old daughter, Ridgely, came up with the idea to decorate a plane in Christmas lights in 2020 to help spread joy and cheer. Every year the display became bigger and brighter, catching the attention of local artist Cindy Pendleton.
