Was gifted a Meater 2 Pro for Xmas. Did a second Ribeye solely for steak sammies for dinner tonight. Worked really well. I now see why having a temp probe is very helpful. Cooked them to 135F. Rested for 10-15. Sliced them super thin at an angle to get more surface area for the sandwiches. Looking forward to enjoying them tonight! Suggestions are welcomed!

Sear sucks but looks great for a sandwich

More cook outside less inside would be my suggestion.

I have used the meater + well over 100 times… I have to set my temps 10° lower then I want for medium rare otherwise it comes out too done

I used the Meater on this year’s Christmas Prime Rib. I’ve never over cooked a Prime Rib until this year.

I’m still having trouble sleeping after what I did to that USDA Prime – Prime Rib.

Edit – My neighbor said it was perfect. I’m questioning our friendship.

Steak looks great. I like my Meater +. It was a gift and I use it a bunch. I will not buy one if this one ever goes bad theough. I have other thermometers too, so it depends on what meat I cook as to what thermometer I use.

  6. I don’t think it would make it to the sandwich.. Lol..

Is that a ribeye? I would have guessed a strip steak.

A ssomeone who was gifted 2 meaters a few years ago… I would take them back. They are not reliable and lose connection even when I’m 5 feet away. I have trouble staying connected in my Kamado and oven. Check their facebook/subreddit. Maybe the version 2 pro is better, but if I was going to get a digital meat thermometer it would be from Combustion Inc.

    Seriously check out r/meater

  9. In my experience MEATER is great in the oven but no good on the grill. Everytime I use it on the grill I get an alert telling me the grill is too hot. I rarely get above 400 on the hood thermometer.
